GIF URL Downloader

Paste any GIF link and save it to your device in seconds. Drop in a list of URLs to grab them all at once, then pass the results through our GIF compressor, enhancer, or upscaler.

Paste a GIF URL

One URL above, or for up to 20 GIFs at once. Max 30 MB per file.

Three steps to grab any GIF

No browser extensions, no right-click hassles, no "save image as" hunting through dev tools.

Paste the link

Right-click any GIF on the web and pick Copy image address, then paste it here. Works with direct .gif links from Giphy, Tenor, Imgur, Reddit, Tumblr, and most other hosts.

We fetch it for you

Our server downloads the file, checks that it's a real animated GIF (not a JPEG or webpage in disguise), and stores it on a private temporary URL.

Save or send it onward

Preview the result, hit download, or pass it straight to our GIF compressor if it's too big for Slack, Discord, or email.

Batch mode for collectors

Paste up to 20 URLs (one per line) and we'll download them all at once. Everything packs into a single ZIP archive with a tidy README.

Private and temporary

Files are deleted automatically after 12 hours. We don't keep copies, we don't track which GIFs you grabbed, and we never share download links.

Fast and free

Each download usually finishes in under five seconds. No account, no captcha, no daily limits, no watermarks added to your files.

Common questions

Why won't my Giphy or Tenor link work?

Giphy and Tenor sometimes serve their preview pages instead of the GIF itself. You need the direct image URL, not the share page. On Giphy, click "Media" and copy the .gif link. On Tenor, right-click the GIF and pick "Copy image address". If you only have the share-page URL, open it first, right-click the animation, and copy from there.

Can I download GIFs from Twitter, Discord, or Slack?

Twitter and Discord convert most GIFs to MP4 video on display, which is why right-clicking shows "Save video as" instead of a GIF option. This tool only handles real animated GIF files. For MP4-to-GIF, you'll want a video converter first - then come back and run the result through our GIF upscaler or enhancer.

What's the file size limit?

30 MB per GIF, and up to 20 URLs per batch request. If a GIF is bigger than that, the download will abort. Try a different source, or download manually and run the file through our GIF compressor to shrink it.

Are my downloads private?

Yes. Files live on a private URL that's only shared back to your browser, and we wipe them automatically after 12 hours. We don't log which links you fetched, and the temporary storage path includes random tokens so URLs can't be guessed.

Can I download from a password-protected page?

No - if the GIF needs login cookies, our server can't see it. You'll need to save the file manually from your browser, then run it through our compressor or enhancer instead.

Does this work for non-GIF images?

No, this tool specifically validates the file as an animated GIF (checking the GIF87a or GIF89a header). If you point it at a PNG or JPEG, it will reject the download with a clear error. That's intentional - it stops you from saving a "GIF" that turns out to be a static image.

What can I do once I've downloaded the GIF?

Anything you'd do with a normal file. A few common next steps: compress it to fit Slack or Discord limits, upscale it to a bigger size for thumbnails, or enhance brightness and contrast if the original was washed out.
